What are Oilless Bearings?
An oilless bearing, sometimes referred to as a self-lubricating bearing, is a type of bearing made to function without lubrication associated with oil or grease. Instead, oilless bearings are made with solid lubricants such as graphite or PTFE which have friction reducing properties and reduce wear and tear as a result. As a result of the unlube bearing design there is no maintenance lubrication associated with the bearing which is ideal for applications where routine maintenance is difficult, expensive, or hazardous.
By eliminating the need for traditional lubricants, oilless bearings will help reduce operating costs, minimize downtime of equipment and improve long-term performance.
